Dace is the de facto leader of Freehold. He is a grave man, whose face is worn with lines of age and worry. Dace understands the dire situation that the colony is in, but some seek to undermine his authority by saying he is simply unfit for the job.
After the orc incursion on the colony, Dace gave up leadership to Ser Quintis Snow. There were talks of sending him away, but Gramdir decided to deputize him instead.
